2025 RUN CANCELED​
​As Minnesotans, this was a tough decision to make. The National Weather Service unfortunately issued a cold weather advisory for Saturday, due to windchill down to -35 and the risk for frostbite in as little as 10 minutes. Although we’re sure plenty of you hardy Santas would be willing to brave the cold (frozen beards and all!), our staff and volunteers would be required to be outside for multiple hours to bring this event to life. We have a responsibility to not put their safety at risk.
All participants have been emailed with further details. You are welcome to pick up your welcome packet at the taproon through the weekend.

Duluth Wild Santa Run - 5k Fun Run
Registration includes a five-piece Santa Suit to run in, a post-race cider, and entry to the all-ages after-party featuring holiday music at the Wild State Cider taproom.
Reindeer Run - Kids Fun Run
For kids 8 years-old and under (must be able to run on their own) for the 1/4 mile Reindeer Run! Registration includes a pair of antlers, apple juice or one small ice cream, and entry in the Reindeer Run. It's a $5 fun run starting at 9:30 AM before the Santa Run.

Registration opens 9/2
All registration is online and must be completed before 12/12. Registration closes on Friday, December 12. Registration may end early if the event reaches capacity.

Packet Pickup
There is no packet pick up on race day! You can pick up your Santa suit and bib at the Wild State Cider taproom anytime during business hours the week leading up to race day. ​

West Superior Street will be closed to traffic from 21st Ave to 27th Ave from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Please arrive early and park on the surrounding streets. There will be no parking in the Wild State Cider parking lot.​

Grab your free cider at either the outdoor bar or inside the taproom. There'll be outdoor fires and hot mulled cider to help keep you warm. Dress in layers!​​​

Start and end at Wild State Cider, then finish off your 3.1 miles with a celebration at the taproom with Wild State Cider. Plus, the course runs by Bent Paddle Brewing. They will be offering their Christmas Cookie Cream Ale to runners!

2025 Road Closures

The 2025 Wild Santa 5K starts and finishes at Wild State Cider on W Superior Street.
​​
From 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM., W. Superior Street will close between 21st Ave W and 27th Ave W for race start & finish set-up and tear down.
From 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM​ W. Superior Street will be closed between 19th Ave W and 21st Ave W
​
From 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM W. Michigan Street will be closed between 21st Ave W and 24th Ave W and from M&H gas station to Garfield Ave overpass.

Lower Michigan St will be closed from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
​
All roadway parking meters/spaces on the roads listed above will be posted as “No Parking” on Saturday December 13, from 7:00 AM until the end of the race.

All roadways will be reopened by the times above or sooner.
FAQ
01.
Can I pick up someone else's packet & vice versa?
Yes, and yes. We do not need to see ID, but be sure the other person knows you are picking up their packet for them.
03.
Is there a cut off time for how quickly I must finish the 5K?
No, but we do expect participants to actively attempt finishing and not stop along the way.
05.
Where can I park on race day? Can I park at Wild State Cider?
Parking will be limited, so we suggest arriving early and parking on nearby streets and lots. No parking at the Wild State parking lot.
07.
Will the Santa Suit fit me? What about fitting my kids?
The Santa suit is a one-size-fits-all adult suit. We can't guarantee fit. Kids should plan to wear the jacket only to avoid tripping hazards.
09.
Can I run with a group? Is there a discount for larger groups?
Yes, you can run with a group. Groups with 10 or more runners will get registration at $29. When registering, look for Multi-Person Pricing.

Can I get a refund, defer or transfer my registration?
Sorry, no refunds. Deferrals are on a case by case basis until 12/2 for pregnancy, medical emergency or military deployment. We cannot allow deferrals for injuries, sorry. Please contact Lisa at info@wildstatecider.com for deferrals and transfers.

Can I walk instead of run?
Yes! There is no time limit. We do expect participants to attempt finishing and not stop along the way
06.
Are there age limits to participants? Do I have to be 21?
No age limits or requirements! Everyone is welcome to participate!
08.
Can my dog run too? Are dogs allowed at the taproom?
While your dog can't run the race with you, they can hang outside with you on the patio at the afterparty!
